The Human Dynamics-led Transport II project in Algeria was granted a EUR 6.761 million extension until the end of November 2017, in recognition of the successful implementation of the project thus far. The project is building further upon the solid results achieved by the preceding TRANSPORT I project, also implemented by Human Dynamics, which concluded in 2011.
During the forthcoming extension the project team will work on finalising and supporting the consolidation of an information system (SIS), optimisation of the structures of the Ministry of Transport, and preparation of manuals on procedure and standardisation for the beneficiary. The project team will also complete the adaptation of current legislation to future reforms, stimulating the professionalisation of the transport sector, and the design and implementation of the NOM Modernisation plan to improve transport security to optimise the quality of transport services in Algeria.
The Support Programme for reforms in the field of transport in Algeria (TRANSPORT II) was initially launched with an overall budget of €16.5 million (of which €13 million are European funds). Since then our team of experts, and the Human Dynamics project director Stephan Neyreneuf, have set very high standards and continue to deliver an environment which will support the continuation of our success in the second phase of this project.
