The project assisted the highest jurisdiction of Romania in adapting to the new legal framework after accession to the EU, aiming to develop and ensure a sustainable and independent judiciary system in Romania.
The project focused on three specific objectives:
• Improve the training structure for High Court judges in fields judicial fields where a subsequent corpus of European legislation has to be introduced and enforce;
• Assist in reforming Romanian judicial system by improving the process of harmonisation of Romanian jurisprudence and communication between second and last instance courts;
• Develop public information structure to improve access to information, transparency and public interest to the role of the High Court of Cassation and Justice.
