The overall objective of this consultancy work is to allow MESA products from EO and related data to be discovered through the geonetwork by the beneficiaries of the MESA projects and other stakeholders interested to Africa EO data.
MESA is a 48-month TA project for 48 ACP beneficiary countries, tasked to leverage the work of previous phases (MTAP/PUMA under the 8th EDF, AMESD under the 9th EDF) and to deliver the benefits to the beneficiaries (policy- and decision-makers, planners, end-users) through establishment of 7 thematic areas (THEMAs) across 5 RECs.
Objective: To support the beneficiaries in designing implementing national, regional and continental polices and development plans toward sustainable development and hence advancing the socio-economic progress and well-being of the African population toward achievement of the MDGs.
Purpose: To increase the information management, decision-making and planning capacity of African continental, regional and national institutions mandated for environment, climate, food security and related responsibilities by enhancing access to and exploitation of relevant Earth Observation (EO) applications in Africa. Setting up of Six Regional Implementation Centres (RICs) and one Continental Implementation Centre (CIC) (one per THEMA).
